Since I cant post this in the Guild Section... I'll try here.
Who all has interest in Star Wars the Old Republic? I for one have pre-ordered it, and looking forward to a release date. Information from the investor calls it is looking like a solid date will be confirmed in September. I would like to play on the dark side as a bounty hunter.
So the couple questions to the guild is.
A. Who is interested
B. light side or dark side

I'm very much interested in this game. Jeryl, I'm not sure how WoW compares to it but check out some videos on the classes. G4.com has a ton of them previewing most of the classes

Those clips look a lot more DDO than WoW imo. If the combat is really like that I'd check it out.
If it has a setting that automatically pans the camera to let you watch your guy walking away from a kill looking like a total badass, I'm all in. $150 preorder here I come!!
Tristen and I both have preordered the collector's edition, this game better rock, first time i have spent $300 for 2 games....but im all for ingame specific benefits. I also just bought 2 new pc's for this for us (well Battlefield 3 and SWTOR). Got a couple of Alienware ALX Area-51's again, 12 Megs ram, 3.46 ghz processors, dual 1.5MB nvidia cards,so $9000 later we are ready to rock!

Jeryl - How are your Giants doing?
Yeah my Giants have dug themselves a bit of a hole this month. Things are looking up though since we just un-loaded Tehada and Rowan. Maybe this will be the kick in the ass our offense needs...At least it's almost hockey season again.
the SWTOR Guild section has reopened. anyone want the job of guild leader and set us up? I'll give this a few days and I can create it if no one speaks up.
Thanks for the heads up Kavel! I went to create the guild tonight but hit a serious roadblock... are we Light or Dark?! Not sure if we can setup a poll yes but I will create a new thread so people can voice their opinion and we can decide from there.

Anyone have a good link to a class overview site? I read the official website but couldn't get a good feel for what classes were tanks/ranged/dps etc. For example the the bounty hunter classes and the sithwarrior juggernaut both emphasized defense...
Im leaning towards the marauder (dps?)but im open to play whatever we'd need to round out the guild .

Inquisitor (mage type, heals as well)
Bounty hunter ( Tank, dps, heals)
Imperial agent ( rogue classes, ranged and melee)
and the Release date has been posted as 12.20.11 expecting a Week for headstart so starting on 12.13.11
Can any of you in the Beta testing give us a feel for the classes and the combat system? Is it similar to DDO or more WOWish "push button attack 1, push button attack 2"? I've never played an MMO except DDO and briefly LOTRO and am spoiled by the combat system in DDO. I quit LOTRO specifically for the crappy combat.
